Cornish, New Hampshire, USA — epa02009943 A 1951 file photo of reclusive author JD Salinger, author of the American literary classic The Catcher In The Rye, who died aged 91 at his home in the US state of New Hampshire, according to a statement from his son on 28 January 2010. Salinger lived in isolation in the small town of Cornish since 1953, had not published anything since 1965 and had not been interviewed since 1980. Catcher In The Rye, with its teenage protagonist Holden Caufield, was published in 1951 and still sells more than 200,000 copies a year.
